Job Title:
Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to perform maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance on commercial flooring equipment, including scrubbers, demo equipment, and finishing machines. These machines are primarily battery and propane-based.

• Perform check‑ins when equipment is returned to the shop.
• Assist with loading and unloading of equipment as needed.
• Clean, pressure wash, and prepare equipment for repairs, detailing them for rent‑ready status.
• Conduct full‑service maintenance on all equipment, diagnosing and repairing most mechanical problems.
• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety standards.
• Track rental equipment inventory and coordinate deliveries, pick‑ups, and service calls with customers.
• Clean, repair, order, and install necessary parts to meet standards.
• Complete and maintain equipment service records, including damage repair, preventative maintenance, and warranty processing.
• Ensure decals are replaced and equipment is cleaned and detailed.
• Keep records and maintain company vehicle, including washing, oil changes, and general safety inspections.
• Oversee and maintain wash bay and surrounding area to ensure proper maintenance, preventative maintenance, and a safe, clean work environment.
• Communicate professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pick‑ups, and service calls.
• Complete appropriate paperwork for deliveries, pick‑ups, and service calls.
• Direct customers to sign appropriate paperwork and keep track of serial numbers.

• 3‑5 years of experience with IC engines, propane, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Small engine experience required.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

• Experience with diesel, hydraulics, pneumatics, heavy equipment, and brakes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience in small engine repair and maintenance.
• Must have your own basic tools – all specialty tools and equipment will be provided.

• The position operates on an 8:00 am – 5:00 pm shift, Monday to Friday, with a small team and shop environment.
• Steel‑toed boots are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, VA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 – $28.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Chesapeake, VA.
