Job Description & How to Apply Below
We're growing, and we're looking for forward-thinking, motivated teammates who want to help build something meaningful-where your contributions count, and your voice is heard.
About the Role:
We're looking for a hands-on Install Technician to handle the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of warehouse equipment-including dock levelers, overhead doors, truck restraints, and overhead cranes. This role requires someone who's mechanically skilled, reliable, and takes pride in doing quality work. You'll read blueprints, operate tools, and work both independently and with a crew to get the job done right-while always putting safety first.
If you like building, welding, solving mechanical problems, and being part of a dependable, safety-focused team-we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do:
- Install and service warehouse and dock equipment, including overhead doors, dock levelers, restraints, and cranes
- Troubleshoot and repair both new and existing equipment
- Follow manufacturer instructions, blueprints, and electrical/wiring schematics
- Complete work orders thoroughly and communicate job progress or issues clearly
- Use power tools, hand tools, and operate equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts
- Work safely at heights and adhere to all company safety protocols
- Occasionally travel to assist with installs in other nearby branches-typically voluntary
- Occasional weekend work based on customer needs-minimal and usually scheduled in advance
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical documents
- Comfortable using power and hand tools
- Capable of working at heights and operating lift equipment
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must provide steel-toe boots (all other safety gear is provided)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience with commercial dock and door equipment or warehouse system installations preferred
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
All offers are contingent on passing a pre-employment drug test and background check. Burwell Material Handling is a drug-free workplace.
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Excellent benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision, Accident, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and 401K with Company Match
- Progressive Paid Time Off and Holidays - starting with 3 weeks PTO in your first year
- Paid parental leave for moms and dads
- Opportunities for growth and internal promotion
- Annual Community Impact Day - paid volunteer time in the places we work and live
If you're looking to build a meaningful career, we're excited to support your goals and help you grow with us.
