Contract:
Full-Time, Permanent The successful candidate will join a strong Key Stage 1 team, working alongside a parallel Year 1 teacher in a two-form entry structure. This provides excellent opportunities for shared planning, moderation, and collaborative teaching. The successful candidate will:
Have a secure understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, particularly in Year 1 , including the Phonics Screening Check Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and disadvantaged pupils Demonstrate a strong commitment to early reading, phonics, and language development Use assessment effectively to inform teaching and support pupil progress Set high expectations for behaviour, attainment, and presentation Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues Show a commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and events The school is particularly interested in candidates who:
Have experience teaching in Year 1 or across Key Stage 1 Are confident delivering phonics (e.g. Little Wandle or similar schemes) Have a strong understanding of early reading and writing development Bring energy, creativity, and a passion for primary education In return, the school offers: A permanent, full-time teaching position on the Main Pay Scale (MPS) or Upper Pay Scale (UPS) , depending on experience A supportive and collaborative working environment within a two-form entry structure High-quality CPD opportunities, including support for ECTs and leadership pathways Dedicated PPA time with year group colleagues Well-resourced classrooms and access to a wide range of teaching materials A strong focus on staff wellbeing, including manageable workload expectations and supportive leadership
