Overview
Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their accounting and finance team. This role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys working cross‑functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership. The Senior Accountant will support month‑end close, manage key financial processes, and contribute to improving internal controls and reporting accuracy.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes
- Perform and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory transactions, variances, and margins
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Support cost accounting activities including standard costing updates and BOM review
- Review AP, AR, and payroll entries for accuracy; assist with resolving discrepancies
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and performance analysis
- Monitor and report on inventory levels, cycle count results, and production variances
- Assist with fixed asset tracking, depreciation schedules, and capital project accounting
- Partner with operations teams to validate cost data and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement best practices
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and SOX requirements (if applicable)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA a plus)
- 4–7+ years of relevant accounting experience; manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory processes
- Experience with ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v‑lookup, reporting formulas)
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with operations leaders
