The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is the primary point of service direct care worker responsible to support adults with disabilities of all ages to lead self-directed lives and contribute to their communities. The DSP is responsible to assure that quality supports and consistent services are provided to people with disabilities in their homes and communities. General responsibilities include coaching and counseling;

assisting with social, recreational, and educational activities; providing medical, nutritional, and behavioral support; including but not limited to lifting, walking with, transferring, and transporting individuals.
