Under the Customer Service & E-Commerce team, you’ll assist customers during checkout, operate all cash register functions, bag groceries, support the customer service desk, maintain attractive displays, and ensure top‑tier service in accordance with store Standard Operating Procedures and health & safety regulations.

$17.50/hr – $25.40/hr

• Checkout customer groceries efficiently and accurately.
• Uphold government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation.
• Follow proper check, ATM, and credit procedures.
• Use proper tare procedures when ringing up scalable items.
• Clean and stock Front End areas, including own register – change tapes and ribbon as necessary.
• Follow all cash handling procedures – meet and exceed regional cashier variance policy.
• Assist in training new Cashier and Cashier Assistant Team Members.
• Assist supervisor in controlling customer flow and back‑up lines – help reduce waiting time.
• Proactively participate in company programs as directed by leadership.
• Arrive to workstation on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive‑selling techniques; answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Maximize sales potential through proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follow and ensure compliance with established procedures, including Weights & Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintain equipment per WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid‑day, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store or company leadership.
• US only – for those hired November 2024 and beyond, cashiers will be assigned shopper training to complete and may be assigned shopper tasks within the Customer Service Team.

• Demonstrate patience in dealing with customers and Team Members.
• Maintain proficiency with the Cashier Code Book and PLUs.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Deliver clear and respectful information to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
• Meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions.
• Follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.

• No prior retail experience required.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• In an 8‑hour work day: standing/walking 6–8 hours.
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Work requires bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
• Exposure to temperatures: 90°F.
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
• May require use of ladders.
