Four Swannes School is a warm, welcoming one-form entry primary school at the heart of our local community. We are seeking a highly organised, approachable and proactive Office Manager to lead our administrative team and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.
This is a key role where you will work closely with the School Business Manager, as well as the Headteacher, staff, parents and external agencies. Together, you will contribute to the efficiency, professionalism and friendly ethos of our school.
The RoleThis is a term time only role plus 1 week, 8am-4pm Monday to Friday.
As Office Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all administrative and financial processes across the school. You will manage support staff and systems, ensuring that the office runs efficiently while providing a high-quality, welcoming service to the whole school community. Experience in a school office or similar environment is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the school office and administrative systems
- Supervise and allocate work to administrative staff
- Oversee school financial processes, including budgets, payroll and orders
- Maintain accurate record systems and databases
- Complete statutory returns and liaise with external agencies
- Manage contracts, licences, insurance and services
- Provide administrative support and advice to senior leaders and governors
- Act as a key point of contact for parents, staff and visitors
- Support school communications and correspondence
- Contribute to lettings, promotion and community use of the school
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident managing systems, data and financial processes
- Able to lead and motivate a small team
- A clear and professional communicator
- Calm under pressure and able to manage competing priorities
- Proactive, approachable and solution-focused
- Strong IT skills and experience with management systems
