Salary:
Up to £50,000 + Bonus
Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

Due to our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Business Development manager with extensive fruit & vegetable produce knowledge, to operate in the London Area. Your customer base will include 5-star hotels, Michelin starred restaurants, high end Contract Caterers and Directors tables, as well as ambitious independents and groups. Previous experience within this sector is essential, though not necessarily in a sales capacity, as well as good and relevant knowledge of the London food scene.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be the primary point of contact for a large portfolio of customers and will deliver a professional and timely account management service, whilst also developing your own pipeline of new business opportunities to grow sales value and margin.

Accountabilities:

Develop and manage a portfolio of existing accounts to achieve sustainable growth in sales and profit in line with company objectives
Grow existing customer base and develop new customers by identifying and cultivating new markets and business opportunities
Consistently achieve personal monthly sales target
Assist in the overall department strategy to develop each account to its maximum potential and conduct regular reviews
Maintain a good awareness of market and competitor activities
Build strong internal and external relationships.
Competencies / Skills/Experience/ Knowledge:

Previous experience within this sector is essential, though not necessarily in a sales capacity.
Excellent knowledge of fresh produce and associated categories.
Excellent knowledge of the London food sector.
Well-connected within the industry.
Good commercial knowledge and experience.
Computer literate – Excel / Word / PowerPoint.
