This position is a union position; provisions of the relevant collective bargaining agreement/labor contract apply to the filling of this position.
The Illinois Department of Corrections seeks an Office Assistant to work at Menard Correctional Center. Responsibilities include keyboarding a variety of material, answering calls, maintaining files, and assisting accountant staff with basic clerical support functions.
Essential Functions- Enter data into Offender 360 (O360).
- Research individual in custody files transferred into the facility.
- Retrieve and print adjustment committee reports from the disciplinary tracking system and distribute to appropriate parties.
- Enter data regarding DNA information, emergency contacts, and offense dates from statements of facts.
- Perform minor maintenance on terminals and printers.
- Discharge back jackets and mandatory sentence release files from O360.
- Keyboard a variety of difficult material.
- Process subpoenas and court orders by copying and logging files.
- Perform other duties as reasonably within scope of the enumerated duties.
- Completion of high school and one (1) year of related office experience.
- Keyboard accuracy of at least 35 words per minute.
- Pass IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Pass a drug screen; use of unauthorized drugs is prohibited.
- Abide by all vaccine and medical standards set by the employer.
- Utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes to support digital transformation efforts.
- Conditions of employment are incorporated and related to job duties.
