Assistant Store Manager - Chester, Dr. Martens plc
Welcome to the Assistant Store Manager position tens plc located in Chester. This role offers you an opportunity to lead a diverse team, support the growth of the brand, and create a positive working environment.
Responsibilities- Take responsibility of day‑to‑day retail operations to company expectations (coaching, sales analysis, visual merchandising and administration).
- Assume full responsibility of the store and team in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Take responsibility for health and safety and security issues within the store.
- Achieve set KPI’s (i.e. Sales/CR/UPT) in line with the store P&L budget.
- Lead and implement high standards of customer experience and product knowledge through a coaching approach.
- Ensure appropriate stock management procedures are followed including stock take, processing deliveries, loss prevention actions, etc.
- Work closely with the Store Manager, Regional Manager and Head Office functions to make commercial decisions aligned with business objectives.
- Passion for our product.
- Similar experience in an Assistant Store Manager or Supervisor role, ideally within a fashion/lifestyle brand, for a few years.
- Confident in coaching, developing and mentoring teams.
- Sales oriented and able to drive others to achieve store goals.
- Demonstrates resilience and a solution‑driven mindset.
- Fluency in English at business level. Additional languages would be a benefit.
- Good IT skills – confident to use Microsoft Office and POS systems.
