We are seeking a Group Management Accountant to join a well-established and growing organisation based in Chester. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in detailed management accounting as well as passing on their knowledge to others in the team. You will work closely with the Finance Manager to enhance reporting, improve processes, and ensure the finance function operates efficiently.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Produce monthly management accounts ready for review.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, post journals, accruals, and prepayments.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and maintain the asset register.
• Perform financial analysis and report on business performance.
• Support month-end processes and reporting deadlines.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with payment runs and cash management activities.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Support budgeting and cost centre reviews.
• Assist with external audits and respond to audit queries.
• Review credit control activities and identify improvements.
• Allocate work across the finance team and support workload management.
• Communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Conduct one-to-ones and support the development of junior finance colleagues.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and reporting.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

• Fully CIMA/ACCA qualified or about to finish
• Currently in a Management Accountant position
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Preferably experience of working with junior members of a team
• Great stakeholder management style
