Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chester for a Workshop Controller at Group 1 Automotive UK. The Workshop Controller will be responsible for coordinating and managing daily operations in the workshop. Key responsibilities include scheduling repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring quality control, managing a team of technicians, and maintaining effective communication between service advisors and the workshop. The individual will oversee the efficiency and productivity of the team to achieve service and customer satisfaction goals.

Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to efficiently plan workshop tasks and monitor progress.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team of technicians effectively.
  • Knowledge of automotive repair processes and workshop operations, along with attention to detail to ensure quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to maintain clear communication between team members and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in using workshop management systems and basic IT skills is a plus.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing challenges in a fast-paced work environment.
  • A valid driver s license is required.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the automotive industry is highly desirable.
