Health & Safety Advisor Help shape a safe, innovative and forward-thinking university environment

We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional who can influence, coach and inspire colleagues across the University of Chester.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a diverse and complex organisation, supporting everything from cutting-edge research laboratories and engineering workshops to student residences, events and major construction projects. You'll be a trusted advisor to managers and leaders while helping to develop our Health & Safety Management System and drive digital improvements that make compliance simpler, smarter and more effective.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering positive change through hands on engagement, digital improvements and embedding an active safety culture. You will:

  • Lead meaningful organisational improvements.
  • Help shape future digital health and safety systems and reporting tools.

Who We're Looking For

You’ll be an engaging, proactive and solutions-focused health and safety professional who enjoys building relationships and helping others succeed.

You will bring:

  • Experience providing health and safety advice in a large and complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to influence, coach and challenge constructively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and organisational learning.
  • Excellent digital skills and an interest in developing management systems and reporting solutions.
  • NEBOSH qualifications and strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
