Senior Planner

Are you an experienced Senior Planner looking for the opportunity to work on a major bridge and civil engineering project whilst developing your career within a growing infrastructure contractor?

We're supporting a well-established civil engineering contractor who are delivering a significant bridge improvement and infrastructure scheme near Chester and are looking to recruit a Senior Planner to join their collaborative project team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner with Tier 1 contractor or major civil engineering experience and a strong understanding of NEC contracts to play a key role in the successful delivery of a complex structures project. The scheme involves significant bridge works, structural refurbishment, highways interfaces and associated infrastructure improvements, offering exposure to a challenging and technically complex programme of works.

You'll work closely with project delivery, commercial and engineering teams, helping to ensure programmes remain robust, achievable and aligned with project objectives throughout the construction lifecycle.

The role offers a blend of site and office-based working, with approximately three days per week spent on site near Chester, providing excellent exposure to both project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

You will be responsible for:

• Developing, maintaining and managing detailed Primavera P6 programmes throughout project delivery
• Monitoring progress against key milestones and identifying risks to successful project completion
• Working closely with site, engineering and commercial teams to ensure programme accuracy
• Managing construction programmes covering bridge, structural and associated civil engineering works
• Identifying critical path activities, constraints and key programme dependencies
• Supporting NEC programme submissions and contractual planning requirements
• Assessing the programme impact of compensation events, change and project risk
• Producing programme reporting, progress updates and recovery plans where required
• Supporting project controls, forecasting and performance reporting activities
• Providing planning insight and challenge to improve project delivery outcomes
• Working closely with both client and contractor stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

We're keen to speak with experienced Senior Planners who can demonstrate:

• Planning experience gained within a Tier 1 contractor, major contractor or principal contractor environment
• Strong NEC3 or NEC4 contract knowledge
• Previous experience delivering bridge, structures, highways or major civil engineering projects
• A solid understanding of critical path analysis, programme management and construction sequencing
• Experience supporting programme-related contractual matters and change management processes
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• The confidence to challenge project teams and positively influence project outcomes
• A proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery

• Salary of £75,000-£85,000 plus package
• Hybrid working with approximately 3 days per week on site
