Position: Senior Menswear Designer (BrotherandKin)

You will be working for Brother & Kin, the menswear brand within the wider Sisters & Seekers family. You’ll be joining a creative, ambitious and fast-growing team, all working towards taking the brand to the next level.

Based near Chester, with a growing global customer base, Brother & Kin is building a strong identity within the menswear space.

This is a full-time, office-based role, giving you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Brother & Kin team, get involved in staff and community events, and be part of the creative content that brings our brands to life.

About

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Menswear Designer to lead the design and development of Brother & Kin collections from initial concept through to product sign off. The successful candidate will be responsible for their own product development and fabric sourcing ensuring that designs are accurately developed and samples delivered to the required quality, cost and critical path.

The role requires strong creative vision combined with excellent technical knowledge and have the ability to independently manage products through the full development lifecycle. You will need to be a key partner to both Buying and Technical teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and develop original designs in line with the brand’s creative direction.
  • Full ownership of taking through approved Brother & Kin design concepts from sketch through to production sign off.
  • Manage development of styles from creating and updating tech packs, selecting and developing fabrics, trims, prints and embellishments and managing sample approvals.
Measures of Success
  • Develops fresh, relevant design concepts that supports the brand's identity.
  • Designs products that meet agreed sales, margin and commercial targets.
  • Successfully takes products from initial concept through to final PP sign off with minimal intervention. Delivering accurate tech packs, CADS and product information minimising the number of sample rounds required before approval.
  • Consistently delivers designs and samples on time.
  • Effectively managing multiple styles and completing deadlines.
  • Effective working relationships with all internal cross functional teams and external suppliers.
  • Resolves development issues proactively rather than relying on escalation.
  • Maintains accurate and organised product development information.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience of working in the Fashion industry.
  • Strong understanding of the full product development process from concept through to production.
  • Experience of independently developing your own products and managing samples through to approval.
  • Excellent knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, fit and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple products and deadlines.
  • Strong CAD and design skills with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.

  • In-person interview – Following the creative task, shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview at our HQ.
