Admissions Assistant

Admissions Assistants are often the first person visitors encounter at the Zoo, working in Admission Lanes and Ticket Sales windows and handling enquiries via email and phone.

They support commercial sales, may assist with evening events, and perform light cleaning duties.

• Temporary contract from 12 July 2026 to 6 September 2026.
• Pay rate of £12.71 per hour.
• Minimum 8 hours per week, up to 40 hours. Hours may increase during busy periods, including weekends, bank holidays, evenings (until 10pm during events).
• Annual leave accrues based on hours worked.
• Staff pass for zoo visits and complimentary tickets for friends and family.

• Passionate and engaging; deliver exceptional customer service face‑to‑face, by phone and email.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Organised, with good IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Experience with EPOS systems and cash handling.
• Confident, flexible, approachable, with a proactive “can do” attitude.
• Able to stand for long periods in a static outdoor environment.

Work includes weekends, mid‑week days, bank holidays and evenings until 10pm during events to cover all business needs.
