Membership and Adoptions Assistant
Temporary contract, minimum of 7.5 hours per week with the potential of additional hours up to 37.5 hours per week during busy periods. Hours will include weekends, evenings and bank holidays; primarily weekend work required. Contract end date: 6th September 2026.
About the RoleThe Membership & Adoptions team is responsible for selling new memberships and adoptions face to face and over the telephone, responding to emails and queries, processing online sales, and assisting customers in the queue.
As a Membership & Adoptions assistant, you will:- Sell membership and adoptions face to face with customers in a polite and efficient manner to meet annual sales targets.
- Check and secure cash taken through the till and assist with cash up.
- Process the administration of membership and adoptions sales, including data input, online order processing, telephone payments and email communications.
- Assist in the monitoring of literature and stock.
- Assist customers waiting in the queue by answering questions and issuing membership cards.
- Temporary contract on a rota basis including weekends, evenings and bank holidays; primarily weekend work required.
- Rate of pay of £12.71 per hour, regardless of age.
- Some evening shifts may arise but are not regular.

- Experience with till and cash handling.
- Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
- Previous administration and data input experience.

- Competent user of Microsoft Office software, particularly Outlook, Word, Teams & Excel.
- Customer-facing sales experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of direct debits (desirable but not essential).
