Cover Supervisor

We are looking for confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Chester. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are considering a career in education, or for those with previous classroom experience looking for a rewarding role.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will ensure students remain engaged with the work that has been set, maintain high standards of behaviour, and help create a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students remain on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Provide support and guidance to students where appropriate.
• Report back to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and student engagement.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff.
• Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and school procedures at all times.
