SEN Support Worker

Are you passionate about helping children and young people reach their potential?

Academics are currently looking to recruit a SEN Support Worker to join a range of welcoming and supportive specialist schools across Chester, with a variety of short-term and long-term opportunities available on both a part-time and full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs - whether you're an experienced SEN Support Worker or you're looking to take your first steps towards a career in teaching, education or support work.

• Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs
• A caring, patient and resilient approach
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• A genuine passion for supporting children to succeed
• Confidence working as part of a wider school or support team
• A willingness to learn and develop within an SEN environment

Psychology graduates and candidates with backgrounds in care, support work, youth work or education are particularly encouraged to apply.

Experience supporting children and young people with challenging behaviour, complex needs or physical needs would also be advantageous.

As an SEN Support Worker, you could gain valuable experience in areas such as:

• Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
• Developing behaviour-management strategies
• Communication and social development
• Supporting personal care and physical needs
• Working alongside teachers and specialist professionals
• Creating positive, inclusive learning environments

Whether you're an experienced SEN Support Worker looking for your next opportunity or a Psychology graduate considering a career in teaching, Academics can help you find a role that suits your experience, ambitions and availability.
