The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Contract AutoCAD Technician to support a busy Building Services team on a client secondment site near Chester. This is a 12-month contract role offering competitive hourly rates, free parking, and access to a subsidised on-site canteen.

Working as part of a small, collaborative two-person team, you will play a key role in maintaining, updating, and controlling technical documentation across a range of building services projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Production and modification of 2D AutoCAD drawings for mechanical and electrical building services installations
• Updating existing layouts in line with engineering mark-ups and design revisions
• Incorporating redline mark-ups into as-built and construction drawings
• Liaising closely with engineers and project stakeholders to ensure drawing accuracy
• Managing drawing registers and maintaining document control systems
• Issuing drawings and documentation in accordance with site and company procedures
• Ensuring all revisions are recorded and tracked accurately
• Supporting general technical administration within the engineering team

Requirements

• Proven experience as an AutoCAD Technician within the Building Services sector
• Strong working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD
• Experience modifying MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health) drawings
• Previous experience in document control or drawing management
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a small team environment
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Available for on-site work near Chester for the duration of the contract

Desirable

• Familiarity with document control systems and revision management processes
• HNC/HND or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or related discipline
