Automation Engineer
Location:
Cheshire – Salary:
Up to £65,000 (DOE) + car allowance.
We are seeking an Automation Engineer to deliver projects from concept to commissioning, collaborating with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop cutting‑edge control systems and automation solutions.
Responsibilities- Analyze customer requirements and develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
- Design and program PLC control systems and HMI/SCADA visualisation solutions.
- Integrate PLC systems with higher‑level manufacturing and business systems.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and customer demonstrations.
- Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and start‑up activities.
- Produce technical documentation, operating procedures, and training materials.
- Provide post‑project support and troubleshooting assistance.
- Work closely with project teams and customers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in an automation engineering position (SIEMENS, Step7, TIA Portal, WinCC, PCS7).
- Strong PLC programming and HMI development skills.
- Automation (SIEMENS), PLC, SCADA, HMI.
- Beneficial – Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Device Net, Control Net.
