Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be working with a growing owner managed business based in Chester to recruit a Management Accountant.
My client is seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join their finance team and play a pivotal role in managing financial operations, supporting the accounts assistants, overseeing transactional data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all transactional data within the accounts department to ensure its accuracy and completeness.
- Supervise bank reconciliations and ensure the timely recording of financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Analyze financial data to generate insights and make recommendations aimed at improving financial performance.
- Ensure accurate measurement and reporting of stock balances on the balance sheet.
- Provide leadership and guidance to accounts assistants, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, financial controls, and company policies.
- Review the work of accounts assistants, identify discrepancies or errors, and provide feedback and necessary training.
- Assist with data entry into accounting software during peak periods.
- Liaise with external auditors to facilitate the audit process.
- Coordinate with internal auditors during interim audits.
- Prepare audit schedules and provide the required documentation and information to auditors.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements and address any audit findings or recommendations promptly.
- Review and assess existing controls and processes.
- Implement improvements to internal controls to reduce financial risks and increase operational efficiency.
- Facilitate communication between staff and the outsourced payroll provider, resolving payroll-related issues and ensuring timely, accurate payments.
- Review payroll reports and reconcile payroll data with financial records.
Skills/ Experience
Required:
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified
