We're looking for a Group Project Accountant to join our Finance Reporting & Operational Team and play a key role in shaping the future of our financial processes.

• Salary: Up to £68,000 per annum
• Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
• Location: Chester HQ (Hybrid - minimum 2 days in office)
• Team: Finance Reporting & Operational Team
• Reports to: Head of International Group Reporting
• Working Pattern: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, 9am until 5:30pm

As a Group Project Accountant (12-month Fixed Term Contract), you'll work directly with the Head of International Group Reporting to drive transformation across our financial reporting function.

This is a highly visible, technical role where you'll lead complex projects, enhance processes, and ensure our reporting remains robust, compliant, and future‑ready. You'll combine strong IFRS expertise with a commercial mindset to deliver meaningful improvements across the Group.

• Impact: Drive real change across Group Finance, improving processes that influence key business decisions
• Innovation: Leverage technology and AI to modernise reporting and enhance efficiency
• Exposure: Work across multiple areas including statutory reporting, consolidation, and investor reporting
• Collaboration: Partner with finance teams across the business to deliver high‑impact projects

• Leading transformation initiatives across Group Finance, improving processes and documentation
• Enhancing:
  • Year‑end statutory accounts & consolidation
  • Month‑end and investor reporting
  • Risk management and transfer pricing
  • Accounting policies and governance
• Identifying opportunities to leverage technology and AI for efficiency gains
• Reviewing and strengthening capitalisation policies and frameworks (fixed assets, software, site planning)
• Collaborating with divisional finance teams to drive consistency and best practice
• Supporting wider finance projects and contributing to continuous improvement
• Ensuring all outputs comply with IFRS and relevant tax legislation

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and Group reporting
• Proven experience leading complex finance projects
• Consolidation experience within a Group environment
• Track record of improving processes and strengthening controls
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience reviewing work and providing clear, constructive feedback
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
• Proactive, self‑motivated, and solutions‑focused

• Experience with SAP
• Background in Group Technical Accounting (e.g. transfer pricing, recharges, shareholder reporting)
