Responsibilities
  • Build a trusting and respectful rapport with autistic people, providing personalised support with personal care.
  • Promote independence and confidence through individualised care plans and activities.
  • Encourage community engagement, organising and participating in outings such as swimming, coffee shops, cinema, etc.
  • Implement the Autism Initiatives ‘Five Point Star’ approach and support staff development through the Competency Framework.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of care, progress, and any incidents.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience or background in supporting autistic or disabled people (training provided if required).
  • Understanding of person‑centred care and the NHS/Local Authority codes of practice.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Empathy, resilience, and a flexible, proactive approach to support and problem‑solving.
  • Valid UK National Insurance number and eligible to work in the UK.
