Overview

Working Full or Part time. An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Countess of Chester Hospital for permanent Band 5 Registered Nurses who have completed preceptorship within an NHS setting to join our Nurse Pool. We are looking for innovative and enthusiastic Registered Nurses who can deliver high standards of care to patients across our hospital, and who are looking for a varied working environment.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside the nursing teams in all our wards gaining broad speciality experiences.

For the successful candidate, we can offer a permanent contract and during interview can discuss shift patterns to suit both you and the Trust. This opportunity may appeal to Registered Nurses who are interested in more flexible hours than are available on the Wards.

The successful candidate will continue to develop skills of clinical reasoning, and supervision in a supportive, caring and friendly environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care is maintained. You will enjoy the excellent ethos of multidisciplinary working to ensure effective and efficient quality care to our patients.

Your working allocation for each shift will be assigned prior to your start time, and will be visible via Roster/Loop.

Be accountable for performing regular assessments on patient needs, to plan, implement and evaluate care delivery and be adaptable to changing health care requirements.

You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication with patients, relatives and carers to always ensure their involvement in the decisions about treatment, planning and the delivery of their care.

You will take responsibility for working collaboratively with your team, other professionals and agencies to always ensure the patients needs are met, especially in relation to their on-going health care needs, their transfer and their discharge planning.

Be accountable for ensuring your daily practice fulfils your professional requirements as outlined by the NMC code of conduct and guiding documents.

Be accountable for maintaining your active status on the NMC register.

Trust locations
  • The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 473 general and acute beds.
  • Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility.
  • Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust employs 5,964 staff (headcount) to provide care and treatment to a population of over 400,000 people living in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire.
