A 0.5 WTE Clinical Psychology role is available in have become available in CWP Eating Disorders Service, based in the Wirral and West Cheshire Eating Disorders Service. Base will be Upton Lea, Bowmere Hospital, Chester. The successful candidate will provide a high quality, specialist psychology service to clients suffering from Eating Disorders. They will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy, as well as providing consultation and advice on clients' psychological care to non-psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and carers.

They will supervise trainees and qualified practitioners as agreed, working autonomously within the framework of the service's policies and procedures.

  • Providing psychological leadership within the team.
  • Delivering clinical supervision to practitioners
  • Delivering assessment and treatment of clients with Eating Disorders
  • Facilitating team discussions and formulating client cases.
  • Participating in quality improvement measures in regard to psychological interventions.
  • Completing appropriate documentation and processes to facilitate ED treatment pathways.

A small annual fee of £16 per year applies.

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) or
  • HPC Registered, Additional Psychotherapy qualification relevant to working with clients with complex psychological and mental health difficulties, Skills in conducting complex psychological assessment and intervention frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration
  • Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex and /or clinically sensitive information to clients and professional colleagues within and outside the NHS
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Skills in providing Consultation to other professionals and non-professional groups
  • Skills in completing neuropsychological assesssments, interpretation of results, and ability to communicate these sensitively as appropriate
  • Evidence of supervision training/qualification
  • Experience of supervising Assistant Psychologists, other psychological practitioners and/or MDT colleagues in psychological approaches
  • Experience of research, audit/service evaluation, Experience of working as a clinical psychologist therapeutically with adult clients with varied complex, psychological and mental health difficulties
  • Experience of working within multi-professional teams
  • Experience of engaging and sustaining work with ambivalent clients
  • Experience of exercising clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care, Experience of liaison with other health professionals
  • Experience of providing teaching and training, :
