Position: Senior Payroll Admin (Permanent)
Senior Payroll Administrator - Chester
Full-time | Permanent | Mon-Fri
Hybrid working | Up to £33K

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to independently manage the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services for a diverse client portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident in end‑to‑end payroll processing, and is committed to delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients.
Oversee Auto Enrolment duties and ensure full compliance.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, providing a reliable and professional service.
Stay fully up to date with payroll legislation, best practice, and industry changes through independent research.
Work collaboratively within the payroll team and wider payroll function.
Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, HMRC, and external providers.
Identify and resolve payroll queries and customer service issues efficiently.
Carry out any additional tasks that are reasonable and relevant to the role.

Requirements

Previous payroll experience within an accountancy practice or bureau is ESSENTIAL.
Parking available
Strong understanding of payroll legislation, processing requirements, and Auto Enrolment rules.
Ability to manually calculate payroll when required.
Experience using Sage 50cloud Payroll or Bright Pay is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and deadlines.
Proactive, positive attitude and a flexible approach.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
