Traffic Marshall

Location: Cheshire West and Chester

THE ROLE - SAFETY CRITICAL:
Control all vehicle movements on and off a live construction site. You are the only person allowed to direct plant and delivery vehicles. Safety Critical status means you have legal responsibility for pedestrian / vehicle interface
- Zero tolerance on phones / ear pods.

KEY DUTIES:

Control all site entry / exit - check vehicle bookings, delivery notes, driver inductions

Direct all HGV's, low-loaders, concrete wagons, telehandlers, forklifts via radio and hand signals

Banksman duties for reversing vehicles - full 360 walk around, no one under load Maintain segregated pedestrian routes - barriers, signage, cones

Manage holding area / waiting bay - no more than 2 vehicles on site at once Escort delivery vehicles to laydown areas - liaise with crane supervisor / lifting team Ensure all vehicles have wheel wash, sheeted loads, valid permits

Stop all works if pedestrians enter exclusion zone - you have Stop Work Authority Complete vehicle log book, delivery register, daily plant inspection check for your area Report near misses, unsafe drivers, damaged gates/barriers

Attend daily briefing / DABS ESSENTIAL - SAFETY CRITICAL COMPLIANCE:

Valid Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman ticket - NPORS N403 / CPCS A73 or LANTRA / ALLMI equivalentCSCS Green or Blue Card - in date Safety Critical Medical - MUST HAVE
- In date within last 12 months - includes D&A test, BP, vision, audiometry. No medical = no start on most Tier 1 sites

Face Fit Test - dust mask

Full 5-point PPE
- Hi-vis orange with Traffic Marshal on back, hard hat, gloves, boots, glasses

Minimum 2 years experience as Traffic Marshal on major construction sites

Radio comms experience - clear English, confident, loud voice HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

CCNSG Safety Passport (required for EfW / CCS / Power Station)
Fire Marshal ticket

First Aid at Work (3-day or 1-day)
Experience on EfW / Power Station / Data Centre / Infrastructure where 50+ deliveries per day Slinger / Signaller awareness WHAT MAKES SAFETY CRITICAL DIFFERENT:

You will be D&A tested randomly - 0 tolerance

You cannot take medication that causes drowsiness - must declare

You must have medical certificate on file with H&SYou must not leave your gate/post unless relieved

You must understand FORS, CLOCS, and pedestrian segregation plans

You are responsible for checking drivers have not been on road more than allowed hoursHSE:

Full compliance with Construction Logistics Plan, Traffic Management Plan, CDM RegsRAMS, Toolbox Talks, Permit to Work Housekeeping of gatehouse and wheel wash areaNOT SUITABLE FOR:
