Domestic Assistant

We have permanent positions for hardworking and motivated individuals to join the Domestic Services Team at The Countess of Chester Hospital.

Monday to Friday: 5 am to 8 am and 7:30 am to 1 pm.

Saturday and Sunday: 7:30 am to 1 pm and 1 pm to 5 pm.

• Assist with a full range of cleaning duties throughout the week in a hospital/healthcare environment.
• Carry out full training and then perform tasks such as cleaning bathrooms, toilets, ward areas, emptying bins, replenishing soap dispensers, hand towels and sanitisers.
• Safely remove domestic and clinical waste from waste bins following specified procedures and ensuring correct colour liners are replaced.
• Identify areas to be cleaned, plan and organise a cleaning programme with the Domestic Supervisor, ensuring patient, staff and visitor safety is not compromised.
• Clean the ward and health‑care environment in accordance with National Standards of Cleaning and the established frequencies.
• Clean all sanitary areas and ward equipment such as baths, toilets, washbasins, showers, and sluice sinks, checking sanitary areas throughout the day.
• Clean kitchen areas, sinks, worktops, cupboards, drawers, cookers, refrigerators and ice machines.
