Job Overview

Reports to the Head of Fundraising. Responsibilities include developing corporate partnerships, managing major events, and ensuring the Corporate Fundraising strategy is fully integrated into the Trust’s overall strategy. The role demands pro‑active, creative planning and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Main Duties
  • Set and meet agreed performance and financial objectives linked to the activity plan.
  • Maintain accurate records on the fundraising database Raisers Edge, create financial reports, and provide written/oral reports as required.
  • Process payments and manage SOPS.
  • Handle all event administration: data collection, correspondence, purchase orders, etc.
  • Review current fundraising events, recommend and implement improvements to increase participation and profitability.
  • Propose, create and implement new fundraising events and activities to generate additional income.
  • Identify potential corporate partners, develop sponsorship proposals and secure sponsorship for events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve fundraising targets.
  • Represent the charity publicly at a senior level and deputise for the Head of Fundraising when required.
  • Attend networking events and business meetings as required.
  • Encourage and develop corporate volunteers to assist at events.
Working for Our Organisation

Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust serves West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, working in partnership with the Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Services are provided from three sites:
Countess of Chester Hospital (438 general and acute beds), Ellesmere Port Hospital (56 beds, rehabilitation/intermediate/outpatient), and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital (community services).

The Trust employs over 6,258 staff and delivered over 503,342 patient attendances in 2022/2023.

Person Specification

Qualifications (Essential):

  • Educated to degree level or higher, or equivalent relevant experience.

Qualifications (Desirable):

  • Certificate in Fundraising.

Knowledge & Experience (Essential):

  • Successful event organisation and management to achieve profit.
  • High‑level presentations.
  • Budget management and goal setting.
  • Developing sponsorship proposals.
  • Building profitable, sustainable long‑term corporate partnerships.

Knowledge & Experience (Desirable):

  • Previous fundraising experience.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check

DBS checks are required. Applicants will pay a DBS application fee (£27.50 standard or £55.50 enhanced) deducted from salary over the first three months. Annual fee of £16 for DBS Update Service. Enhanced DBS may require additional submission if omitted or incorrect information is found.

Overseas Candidates
