Our internship programme is designed to help enthusiastic and highly motivated vets achieve their career goals. Our past interns have gone on to various paths, from returning to general practice to securing residency positions in their chosen specialities.

We are a friendly and supportive specialist-led multidisciplinary referral centre located near Chester. Our disciplines cover anaesthesia, internal medicine, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, neurology, diagnostic imaging, ophthalmology, and oncology. With highly experienced nursing teams, we receive cases from all over the country, assuring exceptional care to all our patients.

The rotating internship programme at Chester gates Veterinary Specialists is a 12-month fixed-term position. In this exciting role, you'll work under the supervision of specialists in a wide range of disciplines. You'll also have the opportunity to work within our out-of-hours first opinion practice, which will help you develop your emergency and critical care skills and knowledge with our supportive and caring team.

Our interns will have access to both formal and informal learning. They'll be encouraged to take part in and prepare journal clubs, seminars, clinical reviews, and many other activities. Being part of CVS Ltd. also gives you the chance to collaborate with other centres, build future relationships, and get great learning support from in-house CPD provided by the Knowledge Hub.

Great teamwork skills and a commitment to practicing the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care are also essential.
