Head Chef – Western Collegiate Club Hockey Association

Countess of Chester Hospital, Liverpool Road, Chester, CH2 1UL

Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, Permanent (Band 5). Salary £31,049 – £37,796 per year.

• Support the Head of Catering Services and manage the catering team within the department, producing the finest quality food for patients and staff.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Oversee catering provision at Ellesmere Port Hospital, including regular visits to ensure standards are achieved and consistently met.
• Maintain a full driving licence to facilitate management duties and travel between sites.
• Utilise Word, Excel and other administrative software to support the catering department’s operations.

• Essential
• Level 4 (Advanced) Food Hygiene Certificate
• Level 3 Food Safety or HACCP qualification
• NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery
• Experience of large‑scale food production/kitchen management
• Knowledge of food safety and Health & Safety law, including HACCP and COSHH; allergen awareness
• Experience of NHS systems (ESR/E‑procurement) – Desirable
• Budget planning experience – Desirable

• Certificate in ILM First Line Management
• Experience of NHS systems including ESR/E‑procurement
• Budget planning experience
