Proactive Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation for a Deputy Warehouse Coordinator to support the day-to-day operation of a busy warehouse environment.
This role supports the Warehouse Coordinator in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials. Acting as a key support function within the warehouse, the Deputy Warehouse Coordinator will also provide cover during the Warehouse Coordinator's absence and contribute to continuous improvement across warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities- Support the coordination of daily warehouse activities, including goods receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
- Assist with inventory control processes such as stock checks, cycle counts, and investigating discrepancies
- Ensure all materials are correctly labelled, stored, and handled in line with company procedures
- Support material movements to and from production areas in accordance with production schedules
- Assist with the preparation of shipping documentation and liaise with logistics providers
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping to ensure a safe, clean, and well‑organised warehouse
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures, reporting any concerns as required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and safety
- Provide cover for the Warehouse Coordinator when required, including managing daily priorities and liaising with internal teams
Essential:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory‑based environment
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively as part of a team
- Basic IT skills, including experience with inventory systems and/or Microsoft Office
- Good communication skills
- Valid forklift licence
Desirable:
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
