Manually and electronically designs and drafts detailed drawings, such as wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and mechanical systems for portions of CEMS construction projects. Develops detailed design drawings utilizing company standards and engineering notes and sketches. May visit construction/field sites.

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience for entry into this job includes the following:

Designer I: 0+ years of related experience. (A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications)

• Basic knowledge of mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering design drafting principles.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations, related codes, and standards.
• Basic knowledge of company design and operating standards.

Abilities: to maintain and update DOT class location maps, to plan and schedule work independently, to lead and teach draftspersons. Strong Microstation/AutoCAD skills.

Designer II:2+ years of related experience. (A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications)

• Knowledge of mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering design drafting principles.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations, related codes, and standards.
• Knowledge of company design and operating standards.

Abilities: to maintain and update DOT class location maps, to plan and schedule work independently. Lead and teach draftspersons, to size and design structural steel and reinforced concrete components, to complete designs for large and/or complex systems, to develop new applications within the Microstation/AutoCAD system.

Strong Microstation/AutoCAD skills. Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry required to perform complex calculations. Excellent communication skills.

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Expected Hiring Base Salary Range:

Designer I: $58,700.00 - $76,200.00
Designer II: $65,500.00 - $85,000.00

The expected hiring base salary range is the range we anticipate hiring within for this position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and work location. This is not intended to represent the full salary range for the position or limit future compensation growth.
