Production Lead; Chester, VA

Overview

The Production Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily production activities of the production staff. This key position within the production team will ensure that production goals and objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

• Maintain a safe work environment with a “safety first” mindset
• Coordinate and supervise the daily production activities of assigned staff
• Ensure that production goals and objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner
• Monitor production performance, identify areas of improvement and take corrective action as needed
• Ensure that production processes are carried out in accordance with established safety and quality standards; follow and enforce company safety processes and procedures
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Train and mentor production staff in the use of equipment and processes
• Monitor and document employee performance utilizing the Training Tracker(s)
• Develop and implement production schedules and workflows
• Enforce company policies and procedures in a consistent and fair manner
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation
• Troubleshoot production issues and resolve them in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have at least 1 year of manufacturing experience
• Must be able to read a tape measure
• Must be able to read and interpret basic shop drawings
• Must be able to speak and read basic English
• Must pass a drug screen and background check
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to withstand extreme temperatures (hot and cold) and outside elements
• Ability to stand/walk/crouch/bend frequently throughout entire shift (up to 10 hours)
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
• Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred
• Must be able to form advantageous work relationships with plant management
