Shipping and Receiving Associate Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Shipping and Receiving Associate, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant. You will be responsible for loading and unloading materials, managing inventory, and supporting the fabrication department to meet production goals. This is not a typical order selector role; it encompasses comprehensive shipping and receiving functions within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Load and unload materials on and off flatbed trucks.
- Deliver materials to designated areas and replenish the fabrication line.
- Manage and count physical inventory both inside the plant and in the yard.
- Notify department leads and supervisors of any errors in material placement or damaged products.
- Shrink wrap materials and assist in building custom wooden crates for transport.
- Utilize an inventory system effectively, requiring strong computer and data entry skills.
- Operate a forklift as part of the inventory management and shipping/receiving process.
- Work with high racking systems and floor-level products, including large fabricated windows and glass up to 20 feet long.
- Meet daily and overall production goals for respective departments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the yard and shop areas.
- Stage and stack products on outdoor racking systems, ensuring safe handling of 15+ feet long items.
- Perform tasks including lifting up to 50lbs unassisted, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Proficient in operating a forklift.
- Strong computer and data entry skills, including experience with iPad and desktop devices.
- Experience in inventory management and shipping/receiving roles.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chester, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 – $20.00/hr.
