The Instructional Aide supports classroom teachers by assisting with the implementation of instructional activities and providing individual or small group support to students. The aide helps create a positive and productive learning environment, assisting students with academic tasks, classroom routines, and behavior management under the supervision of the lead teacher.
Job ResponsibilitiesAssist teachers with preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce lessons and support learning needs.
Help monitor student behavior and maintain a respectful and safe classroom environment.
Assist with record-keeping, grading, and organizing student work as directed.
Support students with special needs or those requiring additional assistance.
Supervise students during non-instructional times such as lunch, recess, or transitions.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet student academic and social-emotional needs.
Follow school policies and procedures, including safety and confidentiality protocols.
Job RequirementsExperience working with children in educational or childcare settings preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with diverse learners.
Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
