Founded in 1963, Wings of Hope's intent is to bring hope to people where the utilization of aviation is vital for these humanitarian endeavors. We work on a global scale to help vulnerable communities access the basic resources essential for human dignity. At our St. Louis headquarters, the Medical Relief & Air Transport (MAT) Program provides medical air transport services, free of charge, to individuals who need specialized medical care that is not available to them locally.

We also provide middle and high school students with project-based learning, connections to STEM curriculum, through our SOAR into STEM four-week, hands‑on program.

Volunteers work typically 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Background Check
:
As part of our commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment, Wings of Hope requires all volunteers to undergo a background check before placement. By submitting your application, you acknowledge and consent to a background screening, which may include criminal history, sex offender registry, and other relevant checks, as permitted by law. Wings of Hope will conduct background checks in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Experience working on single and twin‑piston engine aircraft to volunteer 1‑2 days a week during weekdays.
  • Avionics Technician Volunteers:
