Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000+ base and bonus (Negotiable)

Birkel Electric is a rapidly growing electrical and low-voltage contractor serving the St. Louis region. With over 120 employees and private equity backing, we are scaling to new levels of performance and expansion. We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will bring strong financial leadership, polished communication, and strategic foresight to guide our growth.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a financial executive who thrives in fast-paced, PE-backed environments, and who can balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.

• Lead and manage all finance, accounting, tax, treasury, and reporting functions.
• Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Drive forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management to support growth.
• Build board-ready presentations and polished slide decks for private equity partners, lenders, and leadership.
• Partner with PE sponsors and auditors to support growth and value creation.
• Lead M&A activities including due diligence, deal execution, and integration.
• Build and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
• Implement financial systems, process improvements, and controls.

• Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader.
• M&A expertise – due diligence, structuring, and post-close integration.
• Skilled in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), EBITDA focus, and KPI tracking.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills – able to simplify complex financials for executives and boards.
• Comfortable in construction, project-based, or contractor industries (preferred but not required).
• Strategic thinker with business acumen, decision quality, and organizational agility.
