The Role

As an Audit and Accounts Senior, you will play a key role within the firm's audit and accounts team, working across a varied portfolio of clients from a range of sectors and business sizes.

You will be responsible for managing your own workload and supporting the delivery of audit, accounts, and wider accounting assignments from planning through to completion. Working closely with managers, partners, and clients, you will ensure assignments are delivered accurately, efficiently, and to a high professional standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, delivering a mixture of audit and accounts assignments
  • Plan and complete audit assignments from preparation through to completion
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts for a range of businesses, including limited companies and groups
  • Prepare and review management accounts and other financial information where required
  • Perform audit testing, identify key risks, and ensure appropriate audit evidence is obtained
  • Ensure all audit and accounts work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant professional and regulatory standards
  • Prepare corporation tax computations and liaise with the tax team where appropriate
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact throughout assignments
  • Identify accounting and audit issues and communicate these effectively to managers and partners
  • Support and supervise junior members of the team, providing guidance and reviewing their work
  • Assist with the planning and allocation of work to ensure assignments are completed within agreed deadlines and budgets
  • Contribute to improving processes, systems, and the overall quality of client service
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients' businesses and identify opportunities to provide additional support and services
About You
  • ACA or ACCA qualified, or actively working towards qualification, with relevant experience gained within UK accountancy practice
  • Strong experience across both audit and accounts within a practice environment
  • Good technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and auditing principles
  • Experience preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and undertaking audit assignments
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to build effective professional relationships
  • Good understanding of corporation tax and how it interacts with accounts preparation
  • Experience supervising or supporting junior team members
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on producing high-quality work
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience with audit and accounts software;
    MyWorkpapers desirable
  • Self-motivated, commercially aware, and keen to develop within a growing professional services environment
