Do you enjoy helping people, solvingproblemsand connecting businesses to the support they need? Are you motivated and customer-focused? If yes, you could be our next business support team member.

In this role, you are the first point of contact – the ‘front door’ to the Growth Hub – for entrepreneurs, start-ups and businesses seeking advice, guidance and support to start, sustain, overcome challenges and/or grow. You’ll aid businesses navigate the business support landscape and access the right services at the right time.

Key activities include responding to enquiries, undertaking initial assessments, identifying support needs and guiding customers towards appropriate services (including business advisers, Growth Hub specialists, workshops, funding opportunities and external support programmes).

No two days are the same – you may be supporting someone to explore self-employment and later working with an established business to access specialist growth support or finance opportunities.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, buildingrelationshipsand making a positive difference to businesses and local communities.

Key areas of responsibility
  • Act as the first point of contact for Growth Hub and Start & Sustain programme enquiries.
  • Provide a welcoming,professional and responsive customer experience.
  • Conduct initial triage conversations and light-touch business diagnostics.
  • Assess customer needs andallocateparticipants to the most appropriate supportpathway.
  • Arrange referrals to advisers, workshops,eventsand specialist support services.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local,regional and national business support programmes.
  • Build positive relationships with business support partners and stakeholders.
  • Monitor participant progression and ensure customers successfully engage with recommended support.
  • MaintainaccurateCRM records and programme information.
  • Contribute to programme targets, qualitystandardsand continuous improvement activities.

Overview

Applicants will possess
  • Experience working with businesses, entrepreneurs or customers seeking advice and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – particularly by phone, email and video call.
  • An ability to build rapport quickly and inspire confidence.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications including Teams.
  • Knowledge of business support services, fundingopportunitiesor enterprise support programmes.
  • Able to assess customer needs and identify appropriate support solutions.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Able to manage a varied workload.
  • A can-do attitude for working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

A business support, coaching or advisory qualification (such as SFEDI) is desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered.
