Inspirational Educator (Maths Teacher or Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant) - Chesterfield, High Peak

Location:

High Peak

Contract:

Temporary, with a strong potential to become Permanent

Start Date:

Immediate

Do you have the heart to make a profound difference?

We have an immediate and unique opportunity at our specialist alternative provision in High Peak for a resilient and compassionate educator. This role is flexible and could be the perfect fit for either a qualified Maths Teacher or an experienced Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant (STLA) with the right personal attributes.

The Role:

We are looking for an individual who can bring learning to life for pupils who have faced significant challenges. All our students have been permanently excluded from mainstream education, and most have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

We deliver Maths at Entry Level, Functional Skills (KS3 & KS4), and GCSE. The successful candidate will also deliver some pre-planned Personal Development lessons (Citizenship/PSHRE).

Who are we looking for?

We are considering two profiles for this role:

  • A Qualified Maths Teacher who can lead Maths and Personal Development lessons.
  • A Dedicated Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant (STLA) with the potential to lead and cover lessons. Our team includes a skilled STLA who can mentor and support, creating a fantastic opportunity for professional growth.
  • The most important qualification? Your character.

While the ability to support in Maths is an advantage, the key skills we need are:

    • Limitless care and a passion for serving vulnerable young people.
    • Resilience and unwavering patience.
    • A good sense of humour to build positive relationships.
    • The belief that every student, regardless of their past, is a delight and deserves the very best support.

    You will have:

    • Your own car and business insurance (essential, as the role may involve duties such as Safe & Well home visits).
    • Fully compliant documentation, including references and a valid DBS check (or be willing to obtain one urgently).
    What we offer:
    • A temporary-to-permanent position with long-term stability.
    • A supportive and collaborative team environment.
    • All teaching planning and resources are in place.
    • The chance to make a tangible impact on the lives of young people who need it most.
    • The opportunity for an informal tour of our site at short notice to see our environment firsthand.

Ready to serve with heart and humour?

To apply, please send your CV outlining your suitability for this unique role. Send your CV to char or call Charlotta at to explore whether this opportunity is the right fit for you.
