About the OpportunityEducation Personnel is proud to be recruiting a passionate SEND HLTA to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chesterfield. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA to work either part-time or full-time, supporting children with a range of additional needs in a nurturing, child-centred environment.

The RoleWe are seeking a skilled SEND HLTA to support teaching and learning across the school, with a focus on pupils with Special Educational Needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a HLTA to lead, support, and inspire children while contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture.
Key Responsibilities- Lead whole-class or small-group sessions under teacher guidance as an experienced HLTA
- Deliver differentiated and targeted learning activities, particularly for pupils with SEND
- Support personalised learning through adapted resources and evidence-based interventions
- Mentor and support other classroom assistants to promote professional development
- Contribute to a calm, values-led, and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor and track pupil progress, feeding into planning and assessment
- Promote pupils' independence, resilience, and confidence
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and external professionals to meet each child's needs
- Hold an HLTA qualification (or equivalent)
- Have experience supporting primary-aged pupils, ideally including SEND HLTA work
- Can confidently adapt learning for a wide range of abilities and needs
- Possess strong communication, organisation, and behaviour-management skills
- Are reflective, compassionate, and able to work collaboratively
- Share the school's commitment to respect, inclusion, and high expectations
