EYFS Teaching Assistant Job in Chesterfield – Support Children at the Start of Their Learning Journey

We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and nurturing EYFS provision. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children at the very beginning of their education and play a key role in shaping their confidence, independence, and love of learning.

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support learning within Nursery or Reception
• Assist in delivering a play-based, engaging Early Years curriculum
• Provide 1:1 and small group support, including for pupils with additional needs
• Support early phonics, communication, and number development
• Help create a stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment
• Observe, monitor, and record pupil progress
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

You will work closely with the class teacher to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to learn.

We are looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant who:

• Has experience working within Early Years or a primary school setting
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of the EYFS Framework
• Is patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification (desirable)
• Has an enhanced DBS certificate (or is willing to obtain one)

Experience supporting speech and language development or children with SEND is highly advantageous.
