SEN Teaching Assistant Chesterfield
Full Term only, Immediate Start

A welcoming and supportive school in Chesterfield is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their inclusive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping pupils with additional needs reach their full potential.
About the RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs (including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social/emotional needs).
- Assist the class teacher in adapting activities, resources, and learning environments to promote accessibility and engagement.
- Build trusting, positive relationships with pupils, helping them feel safe, confident, and supported throughout the school day.
- Support behaviour management through calm, nurturing, and consistent approaches.
Contribute to progress monitoring, working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals. - Help create an inclusive classroom where every child is valued and able to thrive.
We would love to hear from you if you:
- Have experience supporting children with SEN (school or in a transferable setting).
- Are patient, empathetic, and confident working with a variety of additional needs.
- Communicate clearly, calmly, and professionally with pupils and staff.
- Can adapt quickly, use your initiative, and remain positive under pressure.
- Are passionate about making education accessible and enjoyable for all learners.
- Hold relevant training (such as Autism, Team Teach, safeguarding) – desirable but not essential.
- A warm, friendly, and supportive staff team.
- Opportunities for professional development and further SEN training.
