Job overview

Outwood Academy Hasland Hall places students at the centre of everything it does, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development. We believe that all support staff within our Family of Schools are key posts in terms of securing student success and achievement across a broad range of subjects and experiences.

As a member of the Outwood Family, we believe in putting students first, raising standards and transforming lives.

About the role

The role involves managing the Personal Development Centre (PDC), supporting all students who are referred to this provision and at risk of suspension.

The focus of this role is to plan, organise and deliver a range of opportunities for students, with the aim being to support students' social and emotional health, alongside raising their aspirations, work ethic and discipline and reinforcing positive learning habits.

You must work collaboratively with inclusion coordinators and senior leaders to identify and remove any barriers which may be preventing a student's progress or development; equally, there will be an expectation to communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding students' referrals and progress.

You will be supported by senior leaders and other pastoral staff within the academy to manage the provision and provide appropriate and personalised support for individual students and groups.

While this can be a challenging role, this is one of the most rewarding positions within our academy, with excellent career progression and CPD available.
