Sen Teaching Assistant

Role Summary

A specialist SEND school in Chesterfield is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH needs on a one‑to‑one and small group basis. The role begins in September and may transition from temporary to permanent. The successful candidate will help students engage with learning, build positive relationships, and create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.

• Support students with SEMH needs on a one‑to‑one and small group basis.
• Promote positive behaviour and outcomes and adapt support to individual needs.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.

• At least 6 months’ experience working within a UK education setting.
• Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential.
