Year 1 Teaching Assistant About the Role

We are looking for a kind, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Year 1 team and help create a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment for our children.

You will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young children and wants to make a real difference to their school experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons and activities.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
  • Help children develop their reading, writing and maths skills.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and good learning habits.
  • Support children with their social and emotional development.
  • Prepare classroom resources and learning activities.
  • Assist with classroom routines and organisation.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and welcoming classroom environment.
About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Caring, patient and enthusiastic about working with children.
  • A positive role model with a calm and supportive approach.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable, organised and willing to learn.
  • Confident in supporting children's learning and development.
  • Committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable, but not essential

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
