Maths Lead

Location:

Bluebank School, Whittington Moor, Derbyshire, S41 8LQ

Salary:
Up to £45,000.00 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)

Hours:

37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.30am - 4.00pm

About the Role

We’re looking for an ambitious and inspiring Maths Lead to join Bluebank School and transform the way our students experience, understand and engage with mathematics.

This is more than leading a subject, it’s your opportunity to shape the curriculum, inspire colleagues and unlock potential. You’ll champion high-quality maths teaching across the school, creating learning that is purposeful, engaging and accessible for every student.

Working closely with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and wider leadership team, you’ll play a key role in developing an ambitious maths curriculum that reflects the individual needs of our learners and equips them with the knowledge, confidence and skills they need to succeed.

What you will be doing:

Lead the vision for Maths across the school, shaping an ambitious, engaging and accessible curriculum that inspires every learner.

Ignite confidence and curiosity in students, helping them see Maths as a subject they can enjoy, understand and succeed in.

Champion excellent teaching, modelling innovative and effective approaches that bring learning to life.

Coach, support and inspire colleagues, sharing best practice and helping teaching staff continually strengthen their Maths provision.

Use assessment and pupil progress data to drive improvement, identifying priorities and turning insight into meaningful action.

Work alongside senior leaders to raise standards, strengthen consistency and create a culture of high expectations.

Champion the power of Maths across the school, helping every learner recognise their strengths, build confidence and believe in what they can achieve.

What You'll Bring

QTS and strong experience teaching mathematics up to key 4 stages.

Excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for making maths meaningful and engaging.

Experience of leading a subject, developing curriculum or taking on wider leadership responsibilities.

The confidence to influence, inspire and develop others.

A creative and inclusive approach to teaching and learning.

Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills.

A genuine commitment to improving outcomes and opportunities for every student.

Driving licence required
