OT Cyber Security Engineer

Up to £70,000 + Hybrid + Benefits

Chesterfield (3 days office per week)

We are supporting a leading engineering and maintenance provider operating across energy, chemical, manufacturing, utilities, nuclear, and wider critical‑infrastructure environments. Due to continued growth in OT Cyber, they are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking OT Cyber Security Engineer to deliver secure‑by‑design industrial control system solutions.

This role offers a balance of technical delivery, consultancy, and architecture design, working across PLC, DCS, SCADA and wider IACS platforms. You will play a key role in shaping secure‑by‑design practices and maturing the organisation’s OT Cyber Security Management System.

The role is hybrid, with 3 days a week in the Chesterfield office (central location with on‑site parking) and flexibility where possible.

• Lead ISA‑62443‑aligned risk assessments and cyber security lifecycle activities
• Implement cyber controls including firewalls, IDS/HIDS, EDR, SIEM, hardening and remote access solutions
• Deliver OT cyber consultancy including CAF/62443 gap assessments and CSMS development
• Support project delivery teams across design, implementation, and assurance
• Mentor junior engineers and share OT cyber best practice
• Engage with clients, OEM vendors and industry forums

• 5+ years OT/ICS cyber engineering experience
• Experience implementing OT cyber controls within industrial environments
• Knowledge of Modbus, CIP, PROFINET, DNP3, IEC 61850 or similar protocols
• Practitioner‑level understanding of ISA/IEC 62443 standards
• Experience in SI, CNI or OES environments is highly valued
